Hello from Athens
Hello Sally.

My name is George, and I'm from Athens. We met last September here,at one of the parties the Athens Film Festival gave (I'm a friend of Christos, the director of it),when I suddenly saw you sitting there, but I was so...unprepared to talk to you,so I just told you how much I liked "Orlando".I participated at this festival with a short film, which won three awards (directing, writing, actress).

I'd like to ask you one thing.I recently started writing a script in english, which takes place in Brighton and Bristol. It's a story about a brother and a sister, written in a Mike Leigh style.
My question is:when I finish it,do you know where I could send it?Does BFI receives scripts from outside the UK?If you know any web sites of film companies that might help me,I'd be obliged!

Thank you very much. And thanks for having contact with your fans,I don't know if any other director does it,but they should!

p.s.:I'm so proud that "Orlando" won the 1st prize here in Greece,at the Thessaloniki Film Festival!

hello george
the only thing i can suggest is that you go onto the website of the Film Council in the UK. there you will (I hope) find details of conditions for who can apply for funds. as for individual film companies, there are so many and it depends on the project. I would suggest, as a starting point, finding a contact in a company in Athens who in turn might have a contact here in the UK.

good luck!
love to lovely Athens.

Thanks!

Thank you Sally!I can't believe you replied within an hour!I thought it would take a week or something!

And yes, finding someone here in Athens first who may contact a company in the UK sounds like the best thing.I'll ckeck the web-site you gave me though.
