is anybody writing a book?
To your knowledge is anybody writing a book about the films of Sally Potter? I'm a film scholar and am considering writing such a book, if no one else is.--Jackie Byars

Sally Potter book
To our knowledge no one is currently writing a book for a mainstream market specifically on Sally Potter's work. However there are various academics writing about Sally Potter's work for publications aimed at the academic world.

Catherine Fowler is one such person, who I believe is focussing on Sally Potter's earlier work but having seen YES recently will make reference to it too. You may want to see her essay in WOMEN FILMMAKERS: REFOCUSING Edited by Jacqueline Levitin, Judith Plessis and Valerie Raoul New York: Routledge, 2003.

We are currently collating a bibliography, with help from the British Film Institue, containing information on interviews with and texts on Sally Potter, and will make this available for download as soon as possible on http://www.sallypotter.com

In the meantime, if anyone can help add to our list, please feel free to post links here or send info through the webmaster link on the NEWS page.

Thanks for the information and the reference to the Levitan, et. al. book. The BFI bibliography on Sally Potter is out of date. I'm glad you're updating it. Is Fowler working on a book? Or just an article?

How can I get in touch with Catherine Fowler? It sounds as if I am interested in a different set of films (the later ones).
